Maverick Bermudagrass

DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE  NOT PROFIT!!!

Maverick Bermudagrass is designed for maximum performance and production. Unlike many blends on the market we do not use Common Bermudagrass to cheapen our blends, nor do we utilize seed coating as a extender/filler.

Each variety utilized in the Maverick blend are selected based on overall forage production, forage quality and  persistence / longevity.

As the name applies, Maverick Bermudagrass  is truly an unconventional, stand alone product, not conforming to industry standards. We are truly in a class of our own.

MAVERICK ADVANTAGE

Maverick is powered by The high yielding CD 90160 Forage Bermudagrass. We utilize the highest rate of CD 90160 Bermudagrass of any blend on the market, coupled with a short jointed fine stemmed and leafy turf type bermudagrass to provide a thicker more aggressive canopy and sod. This combination provides for a high yielding, fine stemmed forage suitable for grazing or hay.

EXCELLENT FORAGE QUALITY/YIELD

Studies throughout the south has confirmed CD 90160 not only out yields most other seeded varieties but  has also shown to have higher protein (increased by 20%) and digestible nutrients (increased by 14%) than Cheyenne and  other commonly marketed varieties.

IMPROVED COLD TOLERENCE

The varieties selected for the Maverick Forage Bermudagrass blend have moderate cold tolerance, comparable to that of Cheyenne and  KF194. It has better cold tolerance than giant which provides for greater persistence and longevity as well as provides a wider area of adaptation.

SEED PROVIDED UNCOATED / RAW

Seed coatings have been utilized for many year and have shown great advantages especially with legumes such as alfalfa and clovers.  By coating legume seed, the seed can be  pre-inoculated  prior to planting which ensures proper inoculation thus creating healthier more robust plants.

In more recent years many companies have began coating and treating grass seed.  Some companies use coating with nutrient fertilizer other claim that their coatings enhance water retention thus enhance germination and  establishment.

Independent research  has shown that there is no significant difference in germination or establishment and that moisture, environmental conditions  and planting procedures have more impact on stand establishment rather than the seed coatings themselves.

With such controversy, and little proof of the benefits of coating grass seed, Maverick Bermudagrass seed is provided uncoated /raw. For the producer there is no hidden cost or added fillers, lower seed cost per pure live seed (pls) pound and lower establishment cost per acres compared to coated seed.

Bottom line you are paying for 98% pure seed not 48 % pure seed  as associated with  coated bermudagrass seed.
