Description:

TAMO 411 is a duel-purpose winter oat which is one of the latest oat varieties released by Texas A&M. small grain program. This new and improved cultivar has excellent grain yield, high test weight, and good straw strength. In addition, this variety was selected for its improved winter hardiness which allows the varieties to be grown in colder areas of the state were previous releases are not adapted. As a forage, TAMO11, has shown excellent yield potential and regrowth. At the time of release in 2013 , TAMO 411 had shown excellent resistance to current races of crown and moderate resistance to stem rust in Texas. In trials and testing performed by Texas A&M Small grain program in recent years, the rust ratings have dropped to moderately susceptible to both Crown and Stem Rust.
